About this Collection
Thank you for your interest in the Christmas tree collection in aid of Lewis Manning Hospice.
The volunteers collected over 157 trees between Wednesday 8th January and Thursday 9th January which has raised more than £1,630. Further confirmation of the monies raised will be posted here soon.
As well as thanking the community for their donations made to us for collecting their trees, we would also like to thank the companies that are making this collection possible for us. Namely:
- BNI Harbour, based in Poole, for sponsoring all the marketing materials. BNI (Business Networking International) Dorset reported income in excess of £2.2million in new business.
- United Powder Coating and KMS Shot Blasting, based in Sturminster Marshall, for loaning their vans and drivers to collect the trees. These family-run sister companies have facilities for all types of powder coating, metal refurbishment and light fabrications.
- Wills Removals, based in Bournemouth, for loaning their vans and drivers to collect the trees. This family-run business offers a packing service, business relocation and house moves.
- Eco Sustainable Solutions, based in Christchurch, for taking delivery of all the Christmas trees we collected
For further information or if you would like to get involved and help with the collection, please get in touch with the Fundraising Office on tel. 01202 708470.
About the Hospice
Lewis-Manning Hospice recently unveiled exciting plans to address a clear gap in service provision and meet the needs and last wishes of local people with cancer, Parkinson’s disease and other life-limiting conditions. New Day Hospice services will be established in the local communities of Swanage and Wareham, and later in other more rural communities.
It costs nearly £1.3 million to run our services annually. We receive only 19% of our income from the NHS, leaving us with over £1million to raise through fundraising activities such as community events, trusts and foundations, legacies, retail and corporate support e.g Charity of the Year partnerships.
Every penny raised helps us to continue to care for people within the community who need palliative care.
