Queenscourt Hospice, Southport

About this Collection

Queenscourt Hospice was delighted to be operating their 4th Christmas Tree Collection in their local area. The scheme is not only a wonderful community event but also great for the environment too as all the Christmas trees are recycled with monies raised going to help provide specialist care and support for local patients and families.

This year the fabulous volunteers collected over 1,090 trees over the weekend of the 10th - 12th January, which has raised £10,986.57 (including Gift Aid and after costs) with £1,214.29 going to the nominated charity of choice, Twinkle House, Skelmersdale who they are delighted to be supporting again.

Twinkle House is Wellness and Sensory Centre that provides free support sessions for children and young people with Disabilities and Additional Needs. They also provide a range of sensory rooms and a Hydrotherapy pool for all ages, as well as Sleep Counselling and Therapeutic Dance, Yoga and Mindfulness sessions for children and young people up to the age of 19 years old.

If you have any queries about the Christmas Tree Collection or would like to volunteer to help collect trees please get in touch with the Fundraising Team on 01704 517420 or email rachel.kennedy3@queenscourt.org.uk

About the Hospice

Queenscourt Hospice is at the heart of palliative care within Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

We strive to provide the very best specialist care free of charge to adults reaching the end of their lives, whilst giving vital support and respite to families and carers. We achieve this through a broad range of services within the Hospice, hospitals, patient’s homes and throughout the local community.

We do all we can for those in our care and understand the importance of personal choice, independence and dignity. On average we support over 1000 people every year to live the best possible quality of life and enjoy precious time with their loved ones.

Providing such a high standard of care costs around £3million every year. With less than a quarter of our costs covered by funding, we very much rely on the wonderful support we receive from our community and fundraising activities such as this collection service.

Your support is greatly appreciated!
