Hospice at Home

About this Collection

2019 was the third year for the Christmas tree collection and was the best year yet with more than 800 trees registered for collection raising £8,856.25.*

The real Christmas trees were collected by a team of staff from the hospice and local volunteers totally 100 people. The hospice were very grateful to all who give up their time to help the Charity and the businesses who donated their vans on the day and those who managed the recycling process. Special thanks also to H&H Reeds Printers who sponsored the collection.  

90% of the monies raised went to the hospice, £7,970.63 and 10%, £885.63 was donated to the following local charities:

  • Lions Club of Penrith
  • Lions Club of Keswick
  • Rotary Club of Carlisle

The hospice is very grateful for every donation which will make a huge difference to the lives of local patients and their families during a difficult and devastating time. All care is provided free of charge and the charity relies on donations to ensure the service is available when required.

About the Hospice

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland provides high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, whilst also supporting their families/carers throughout this time and following bereavement.

The services available are: Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Lymphoedema, Complementary Therapy, Family Support and a Befriending Service. Care is planned for each patient on an individual basis, who may access one or a combination of the services.

We need to raise £18,000 each week to continue to deliver our services free of charge to patients. Your support and generosity will enable us to continue providing vital hospice care in the home within our local community.
