JustHelping is an exciting and fast-growing UK charity (established in 2012) with a mission to help more people contribute in their community through volunteering on fun events. In 2019, our flagship Christmas Tree collection raised over £412k for Hospices and other charities by collecting and recycling over 33,000 unwanted Christmas trees in 34 towns and cities across the UK. More than one thousand volunteers supported this event.
A core feature of our events is that we raise significant money for charity which has been increasing by over 60% pa. We plan to continue this growth by engaging more volunteers across the country and introducing some new fun events. In 2019 we are investing in a much stronger media presence and IT, to support our development.
To help us on this journey we need more beautiful souls to join our incredible team of volunteer Trustees. We particularly need people with experience in Media & PR, Marketing (particularly Social Media) and General Management, to help:
- Provide leadership and development of our volunteer network
- Raise awareness of our mission and events across the country, to help drive growth
- Increase corporate sponsorship, match funding and national agreements
- Manage and develop strategic parts of our Christmas tree collection
We expect our Trustees to own a specific area or outcome. They will develop a plan and manage it day-to-day using additional volunteer resources as necessary. Trustees attend monthly meetings where they provide updates of their area, provide each other with support, and review and discuss the performance and direction of the charity. We need people who are able to commit a minimum of four days a month on a flexible basis to achieve their plan. The appointment would be for two years but could be extended for additional terms. A core team of Trustees are located in South Manchester where most monthly meetings occur, however, it is not a requirement for new Trustees to be in this area. We believe that our work aligns with the CSR policies of many companies.
If you have a big heart, some spare time and relevant experience we would really love to hear from you. Please send your CV via email Iain Tittle.
