Nottinghamshire Hospice, Nottingham

About this Collection

For the first time, Nottinghamshire Hospice is delighted to be joining forces with Just Helping to organise our first Christmas Tree recycling campaign for the Nottinghamshire community.

During the festive period, Nottinghamshire Hospice will be providing care to people living with life-limiting illnesses across Nottinghamshire and providing emotional support to their families and loved ones, in the comfort of their own homes, so that they can spend Christmas together.

To ensure that no family is left without our support this Christmas, we want to raise £50,000 which will enable us to continue delivering our services free of charge to those who need us. By taking part in our first Christmas Tree Recycling campaign, your generous support will play a major contribution to helping us achieve our target, enabling us to provide compassionate care, warmth and festive spirit to five families every single day in December, including Christmas day.

When registering your Christmas tree to be recycled by Nottinghamshire Hospice please do give generously.

Collections will run between Monday 7th January – Wednesday 9th January 2019 in the following areas:

NG2  NG3  NG4  NG5  NG8  NG14

Registrations will close at 5pm on Wednesday 2nd January to ensure we have plenty of time to process routes for our collection. Register here!

Please ensure that your Christmas tree is left in your designated area before 8am between the 7th – 9th January ensuring that all decorations have been removed. Your tree will be collected sometime between 10am – 4pm on one of the planned collection dates. If we have missed your tree, please don’t worry! Please contact us by Friday 11th January and we will re-arrange collection as soon as possible.

For further information about the Christmas tree collection or if you would like to get involved, please contact us on 0115 910 1008 or email fundraising@nottshospice.org

About the Hospice

Founded in 1980, Nottinghamshire Hospice is a community-based palliative care centre which provides high quality care services to adults who have terminal and life-limiting illnesses, and their families and carers. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and all our services are delivered and based on individual patient needs: it is a way of caring for people.

We aim to add life to days for people that have been told that their illness cannot be cured. We help people who are thought to be in the last year of their life to live as actively and well as possible with care that puts the highest value on dignity, choice and respect.

The help and care our services provide to patients, and their loved ones, is holistic. We offer compassionate nursing care to help meet physical needs, social support to help tackle loneliness or isolation and counselling and chaplaincy to support spiritual needs.

Each year we need to raise £3 million to be able to deliver our current services which means we are reliant on the wonderful support of our local community.

Terminal and life-limiting illness can affect any family at any time. We want our local communities to continue to be able to live well and, with our support, die well. We want people to be assured that, if they or their family are affected, Nottinghamshire Hospice will be there to support them.
