The Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract

About this Collection

After a fantastic response to our Christmas Tree Collection last year which raised over £2000 for The Prince of Wales Hospice, we’re once again asking our local community to make monetary donations to the Hospice and let us deal with the hassle of getting rid of your tree!

How your donation will make a difference:

  • £14 can fund a health care assistant for an hour to look after four or more patients.
  • £18 can fund a nurse for an hour, to administer pain relief to patients.
  • £60 can fund all the services needed to run an Incare bedroom for a whole morning.

This year we will be collecting trees from the following postcodes on 8th, 9th and 10th January 2019.

WF7  WF8  WF9  WF10 and WF11

Don't leave it too late - register your tree by 5pm on 4th January 2019.

Please ensure your tree is outside your house and accessible for our volunteers to collect.

We couldn’t run this collection without the support of our fantastic volunteers. We’re pleased to announce that this year we’ll be supported by volunteers from Brakes and RWE.

For further information about getting involved with the Christmas tree collection please call the Events Team on 01977 708868, or send an email to events@pwh.org.uk

About the Hospice

The Prince of Wales Hospice has been providing care to people with a life-limiting illness since 1989. Our services are available to any adult from the Five Towns area of West Yorkshire.

We care for patients with any life-limiting illness, including cancer, motor neurone disease and chronic heart and lung disease. We care for anyone over the age of 18, either as a visiting out-patient, or on our ward where we offer 24-hour specialist care. Our Hospice helps people live better with their illness, with over half who stay with us eventually returning home. Many choose the safety and dignity of our Hospice for care at the end of their life.

Our care also extends to the carers and families of our patients, who often need us just as much.
